Overview
Change does not fail simply because employees were not informed. It fails when people do not understand what is happening, do not trust the reasons behind it, feel that change is being done to them rather than with them, or cannot see what they are expected to do differently.
The Change Communication Strategy & Execution Workshop – From Resistance to Adoption is a practical two-day learning experience designed to help communication, change and transformation professionals move beyond announcements, newsletters and town halls towards communication that actively enables organisational change.
Participants will explore the psychology behind resistance, uncertainty and change fatigue; learn how to identify stakeholder concerns before they become barriers; create credible change narratives; equip leaders and managers to communicate with confidence; design integrated campaigns; respond to rumours and pushback; use AI responsibly; and measure whether communication is genuinely contributing to adoption.
The programme recognises an important human reality: when people perceive threat, uncertainty, loss or lack of control, emotion can overpower rational analysis. Successful change communication must therefore do more than transmit facts. It must reduce uncertainty, build trust, create psychological safety, restore a sense of agency and make the path forward feel understandable and achievable.
Participants are encouraged to bring a current or upcoming organisational change challenge so that the tools, frameworks and exercises can be applied directly to a real transformation initiative.
Key issues to be discussed include:
Event Highlights
• From theory to execution: Work progressively from diagnosis and stakeholder intelligence through to campaign activation, measurement and reinforcement.
• Human-centred change communication: Understand how uncertainty, fear, loss of control, scepticism and change fatigue influence employee behaviour.
• Practical tools, not presentation notes: Build stakeholder maps, risk assessments, narratives, message frameworks, manager communication tools and campaign plans.
• Real organisational application: Apply each stage of the programme to an existing or simulated transformation initiative.
• Manager and leadership mobilisation: Learn how to turn leaders and line managers into credible, prepared and consistent change communicators.
• Resistance and difficult conversations: Develop practical responses to rumours, misinformation, challenging questions and passive resistance.
• AI and change communication: Explore opportunities to use AI for analysis, scenario planning and communication development while managing trust and governance risks.
• Measurement that matters: Progress beyond clicks and attendance towards evidence of understanding, belief, behaviour and adoption.
• 90-Day Change Communication Playbook: Complete the programme with an actionable roadmap for the first 30, 60 and 90 days of execution.
Who Should Attend?
Benefits of Attending
Participants will be better equipped to position communication as a strategic enabler of transformation rather than a downstream delivery function. The programme provides a structured way to anticipate human reactions to change, translate complex strategy into messages employees can understand and believe, and create communication interventions that encourage action rather than passive awareness.
By attending, participants will be able to:
• Reduce avoidable resistance: recognise emotional and practical barriers early and design communication that addresses uncertainty before it escalates.
• Build greater trust and credibility: create change narratives and messages that acknowledge employee concerns while maintaining strategic direction.
• Improve stakeholder mobilisation: identify who must think, feel and act differently and tailor communication accordingly.
• Strengthen leadership communication: equip executives and managers to answer difficult questions and communicate change consistently.
• Execute integrated campaigns: move from one-off announcements to communication journeys aligned with the stages of adoption.
• Demonstrate communication value: establish indicators that connect communication activity to understanding, behaviour and business adoption.
• Return to work with practical tools: leave with frameworks and materials that can immediately support a live change initiative.
